is responsible for safely administering medications and providing direct resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. TMAs play a vital role in supporting the nursing team and ensuring residents receive compassionate, timely, and accurate care.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately administer oral, topical, and inhaled medications as delegated by licensed nursing staff
Document medication administration and report any changes, refusals, or concerns promptly
Observe residents for side effects, adverse reactions, and overall response to medications
Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, mobility, and meals as needed
Ensure residents' dignity, safety, and comfort at all times
Maintain cleanliness and organization of medication carts, storage areas, and supplies
Collaborate with nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary staff to deliver high-quality, resident-centered care
Adhere to state, federal, and facility policies and regulations regarding medication administration and resident care
Qualifications:
Current CNA certification in Minnesota
Completion of an approved Trained Medication Aide (TMA) program in Minnesota
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe medication practices
Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused attitude
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow instructions and work under nurse supervision
