Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Intermediate and Flagger Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians around construction sites. This position requires a strong understanding of construction operations and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The Traffic Controller will work closely with construction crews, equipment operators, and site managers to maintain safety standards while facilitating project progress.

Responsibilities

Direct traffic flow around construction sites to ensure safety for workers and the public. Communicate clearly with equipment operators, including those operating Caterpillar machinery, bulldozers, backhoes, dump trucks, loaders, and graders. Monitor site activities to identify potential hazards and implement necessary safety measures. Maintain clear signage and barriers to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through the work area. Collaborate with site management to develop traffic control plans that comply with local regulations. Conduct regular inspections of traffic control devices and report any issues or deficiencies. Provide support during emergency situations by coordinating with emergency services as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience in traffic control or related roles within a construction environment is preferred. Strong observational skills and attention to detail to identify potential safety hazards. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and the public. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety protocols. Certification in traffic control or flagging is a plus but not mandatory. Must be physically fit and able to stand for extended periods while directing traffic.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
