Training Overview
Our training program is designed to prepare you for a successful career as a professional tractor-trailer driver. You will receive hands-on guidance and step-by-step instruction in the following areas:
Tractor-Trailer Operation:
Learn safe driving techniques, including highway and local driving, lane management, speed control, and handling various road conditions.
Coupling and Uncoupling:
Master connecting and disconnecting trailers safely and efficiently.
Loading and Securing Freight:
Understand proper weight distribution, load securement, and safe handling of different types of cargo.
Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections:
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
Maneuvering and Backing Skills:
Develop precision in backing, turning, and navigating tight spaces, loading docks, and job sites.
Safety and Compliance:
Learn company safety protocols, DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and best practices for accident prevention.
Communication and Reporting:
Gain skills in reporting issues, interacting with dispatch, and coordinating with job-site personnel.
Professional Habits:
Training includes time management, route planning, maintaining logs, and overall professionalism expected in the trucking industry.
Primary Responsibilities
Complete hands-on training alongside experienced drivers to learn safe tractor-trailer operation
Operate tractor-trailers under supervision in a variety of driving conditions
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, performing routine maintenance as needed
Practice precise backing, turning, and maneuvering in confined or challenging spaces
Follow assigned routes, schedules, and company procedures consistently
Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and job-site personnel regarding deliveries, delays, or operational issues
Accurately maintain logs, paperwork, and compliance with DOT regulations
Keep the tractor-trailer clean and organized, including the cab and cargo area
Adhere to all company policies and safety standards at all times
Qualifications
Previous experience in heavy truck driving is a plus!
Valid driver's license (B & C endorsement is considered an advantage)
Medical Certificate (DOT) not required at hire, but will be required as you progress.
Clean and reliable driving record
Dependable, safety-focused, and open to learning
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and manage early start times
Positive attitude and consistent work ethic
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
