Duties

Operate tow trucks safely and efficiently to recover, transport, and load vehicles of various sizes using flatbed or traditional tow trucks. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections prior to towing to assess mechanical condition and identify any potential hazards. Load and unload vehicles carefully, utilizing mechanical equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring damage-free handling. Perform basic automotive diagnostics and repairs when required to prepare vehicles for transport or roadside assistance. Maintain accurate records of all towing activities, including logs of vehicle details, locations, and services performed. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining procedures professionally, and addressing any concerns with confidence. Manage conflict situations calmly and effectively, demonstrating strong conflict management skills to resolve issues amicably. Follow safety protocols rigorously to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues, clients, and the public at all times. Assist with other tasks such as load & unload operations or operating equipment like forklifts or other machinery as needed. Keep the tow truck well-maintained by conducting routine checks on mechanical systems and reporting any issues promptly.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on jurisdiction. Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed models; mechanic experience is highly valued. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic automotive diagnostics and repairs. Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive repair tools. Experience driving commercial vehicles in various conditions with confidence and safety awareness. Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Prior experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients under stressful situations. Effective conflict management skills to handle challenging interactions diplomatically. Physical stamina to lift heavy objects, perform vehicle recovery tasks, and stand for extended periods during shifts. Knowledge of automotive safety protocols and roadside assistance procedures.
