Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited toolmaking apprenticeship or equivalent experience in precision toolmaking.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
Experience operating manual and CNC machine tools.
Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and measurement techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Journeyman Toolmaker or equivalent.
Experience with CAD/CAM software for tooling design and programming.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to work with advanced materials such as hardened steels and exotic alloys.
Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Fabricate, assemble, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment to produce high-quality tooling components.
Perform detailed inspections and measurements to verify tooling accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
Collaborate with engineers and production staff to identify tooling issues and implement effective solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
Maintain accurate documentation of tooling maintenance, repairs, and modifications to ensure traceability and compliance with company standards.
