Job Title: Tooling Engineering Manager

Salary Range: $90,000 to 110,000/Year

Position Overview

The Tooling Engineering Manager will oversee tooling engineering, layout, and pattern shop activities within a foundry environment. This role ensures that tooling, patterns, and dimensional layouts meet production needs and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with tooling engineers, layout technicians, production teams, and customers to deliver high-quality tooling solutions that support consistent, accurate, and efficient casting operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support tooling engineering activities, including tooling quotes, design reviews, and tooling build expectations. Oversee layout operations to ensure accurate dimensional verification, corrections, and alignment with casting requirements. Work directly with customers to ensure tooling and castings meet dimensional and quality specifications. Partner with production teams to provide tooling that supports plant operational needs and foundry processes. Coordinate with pattern shop personnel to ensure timely and accurate pattern production, modifications, and repairs. Maintain effective communication across engineering, layout, pattern shop, and production teams to support project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field;

or

3+ years of relevant foundry/tooling engineering experience;

or

an equivalent combination of education and practical experience. Advanced knowledge of VMM (Vertical Molding Machine) tooling, core tooling, core fit, and mold interactions. Experience with CAD tools and working knowledge of pattern shop, layout, and foundry engineering processes. Familiarity with

Magmasoft

or similar simulation software. Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities.
