Job Description

This is skilled journeyman level work, which may include lead supervisory responsibilities, involving the maintenance, inspection and fueling of assigned equipment; providing on-the-road field services; and repairing, mounting, computer balancing and inspecting tires on City vehicles and on and off-road construction and maintenance equipment.


Salary: $20.35 - $29.19 Hourly

To Qualify



Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:




Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.

Obtain a State of Florida Class "A" Commercial Driver License with "X" endorsement within 12 months of appointment to the position.

Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.

Possess two (2) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive and heavy equipment tires and wheel servicing, and/or related vehicular maintenance.

Be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.


Desirable Qualifications. Preferred Applicants:




Are able to guide and train employees in servicing activities. Have considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment and methods of repairing, balancing and mounting of tires and wheels and detecting oil and coolant system defects.
