Job Summary:

The Thrift Store Supervisor plays a key role in the daily operations of the thrift store, helping to ensure a clean, welcoming, and well-organized environment for customers, donors, and volunteers. This position assists in supervising staff and volunteers, overseeing donations and inventory, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting the overall mission of Faithful Friends through retail operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Open and close the store as scheduled, following all procedures for cash handling and security

Provide hands-on supervision of staff and volunteers during assigned shifts

Ensure excellent customer service and handle escalated customer concerns professionally

Assist with receiving, sorting, pricing, and displaying donated goods

Maintain clean, safe, and organized sales and storage areas Support merchandising efforts to maximize sales Track and report sales and donation trends as needed Help coordinate staffing schedules and provide training to new team members Communicate effectively with leadership regarding inventory needs, staffing, or operational concerns Represent the values and mission of the organization at all times

Ensure compliance with safety standards and store policies

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum 1 year of retail/clothing or supervisory experience preferred

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as sorting and merchandising Basic computer and cash register skills Must be dependable, self-motivated, and organized Passion for animal welfare or nonprofit work is a plus
Work Environment:

Fast-paced retail environment May involve standing for long periods, bending, and lifting Interaction with the public, donors, and volunteers regularly
