The primary goal of the Therapy Associate is to directly assist the therapy team (physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, vision therapists, and assistive technology professionals) with tasks related to therapy groups, therapy interventions, and special therapy events. The therapy associate needs to be motivated, independent, easily take directions from others, manage their time well, and be able to work on multiple tasks within a day.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate with developmental center therapists regarding classroom/Sensory room/hallway preparation and lesson plans;
Prepare materials for therapy interventions as needed, including gathering and purchasing any necessary materials for the week;
Daily cleaning and disinfecting of developmental center gym, sensory room, quiet room, and any other spaces utilized for therapy interventions;
Maintain necessary supply of disposable items (i.e., Kleenex, paper towels);
Implement appropriate classroom curriculum or activity as directed by therapists;
Assist with therapy groups as needed or asked;
Assist in the training, supervision and encouragement of classroom volunteers;
Adhere to all program policies and procedures including universal precautions;
Other duties as needed or required including but not limited to: keeping the therapy suite clean/tidy, put away therapy items returned from classrooms, cleaning/preparing therapy carts, helping in classrooms that are short-staffed, helping classrooms with transitions;
Daily attendance at Flock;
Attendance at weekly meetings;
Attendance at 2 required CS events a year (ie monthly family gatherings);
Attendance at LLH fundraising events;
Attend workshops/seminars as requested, CS In-services and relevant conferences.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
1+ year of experience working with children from birth through six years old;
Ability to obtain/maintain CPR certification;
Good oral and written communication skills;
Confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment;
Support for and participation in the transdisciplinary team approach to Special education;
Excellent skills in: learning new tasks, teamwork, organization, initiative, self-discipline and self-directed completion of job;
Works independently and cooperatively as a team member with all LLH staff;
Incorporate a welcoming and teaching attitude towards guests, student interns and others who come to learn from the Little Light House team;
Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry 50 pounds across a room;
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
1+ year of experience with children with special needs;
Therapy background;
* Demonstrates emotional stability, maturity, and a desire to grow spiritually such that spiritual principles will be reflected in day-to-day interactions.
