Overview

The Recreation Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals through engaging recreational activities and therapeutic interventions. The Recreation Specialist will provide recreational programs that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Duties

Develop and facilitate recreational therapy programs tailored to the needs of participants. Conduct assessments to evaluate individual interests and abilities, ensuring appropriate program placement. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Lead activities such as art therapy, music therapy, dance therapy, yoga. Monitor participant progress and adjust programs as necessary to meet evolving needs.

Skills

Candidates should possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:

Experience in music therapy, dance therapy, art therapy, or recreational therapy. Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices. Familiarity with patient assessment techniques and diagnostic evaluations. Background in home & community care, nursing home care, or assisted living environments. Experience working with geriatrics.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 32 per week
