General Information:





The Breeze is hiring editors to oversee various sections/departments at The Breeze,

which publishes an online news site and a weekly print newspaper. Positions begin on April

1, and continue into the next academic year.

OPEN POSITIONS:

news editors (2, oversee news section) opinion editor (oversees opinion section) sports editors (2, oversee sports section) culture editors (2, oversee culture section) copy editors (2) audience editors (oversees social media and readership efforts) photo editors (2) art director (oversees print/online graphics and print design)


Duties and Responsibilities:




Oversee a section of The Breeze by providing leadership and vision Assign stories and coordinate with others to produce multimedia features to accompany

stories

Edit content and work with content creators to improve their work Work with online editor(s) to produce online versions of stories Design pages for the weekly print edition



Qualifications:




Ability to lead a team Attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines Creativity Copyediting skills Design and layout skills are helpful Experience with InDesign helpful

Conditions of Employment:





Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
