Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to support our core accounting and financial reporting functions. This key role with growth potential will report to the CFO and will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of financial operations and reporting. The ideal candidate is a hands-on and detail-oriented professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, assist in leading and mentoring a growing team, and drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:






1. General Accounting & Operations




Assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate results Maintain and continuously improve accounting systems, procedures, and internal workflows for scalability and efficiency



2. Financial Reporting & Compliance




Prepare and review timely, accurate, and comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements Ensure compliance with applicable GAAP standards and internal policies Support external financial audits and coordinate tax filings with external CPA firms Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance Assist with regulatory reporting and other compliance activities as needed



3. Leadership & Collaboration




Provide support and mentorship to accounting team members, fostering professional growth and performance Collaborate cross-functionally with operational, project, and corporate leaders to align accounting with broader business goals Partner with the CFO and executive team to develop key financial metrics, dashboards, and performance reports to support data-driven decision making



Minimum Education Requirements:




BS in Accounting, Finance or related field


Required Qualifications (skills/experience/certifications):




3 - 6 years of progressive experience in accounting

Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with GAAP, audits, and internal controls.

Demonstrated ability to work in a growth-oriented environment, manage competing priorities, and build high-performing teams



Preferred Qualifications (skills/experience/certifications):




A background in a multi-entity, project-based environment such as engineering, construction, or professional services is desirable

Experience with ERP/project accounting software, such as Deltek VantagePoint, is highly desirable
