Terminal Operator - Petroleum & Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG/Propane)



Job Summary

We are seeking a mechanically inclined Petroleum and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG/Propane) Tank Farm Operator to support safe, compliant terminal operations in a continuous 24-hour operating environment. This role performs functions commonly associated with a Terminal Operator, LPG Operator, Gauger, and Maintenance Mechanic, including the handling, storage, and transfer of regulated petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas. All work is performed in accordance with DOT, OSHA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standard operating procedures. Prior petroleum, LPG, terminal, or related industrial operations experience is preferred; however, the Company will train qualified candidates. This position requires the ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as necessary to support 24/7 operations.

Location & Travel

Primary work location: Plymouth, CT

Secondary work location: Springfield, MA

Scheduled time will be split between locations based on operational needs. Partial mileage

reimbursement will be provided for travel to the Springfield, MA location in accordance with Company policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform all terminal operations as directed by work orders and/or supervision in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements. Handle liquid petroleum products and LPG through pipelines, barges, tank-to-tank transfers, tank cars, and related terminal equipment. Perform physical and side gauge readings as required. Conduct spill response and cleanup operations as necessary. Perform housekeeping duties related to operations, grounds, and buildings. Assist with environmental services and maintenance activities as required. Participate in company training programs and successfully complete required testing. Work overtime as needed; overtime is voluntary but may be mandatory if no volunteers are available. Perform all work in compliance with Company safety standards, policies, and procedures. Complete other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.

Trade school, formal training, significant related work experience, or an associate degree is highly

desirable.

Job Requirements

Familiarity with hand tools such as pipe wrenches, box wrenches, and similar equipment. Strong mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and percentages. Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24-hour operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from the Terminal Manager. Strong attention to detail, dependability, and work ethic. Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. Physical ability to walk up and down stairs and ladders, including heights exceeding 40 feet, navigate
uneven surfaces, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, rain gear, and steel-toe boots. Valid driver's license required. Successful completion of a drug screen upon offer.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

Experience handling hazardous liquid chemicals. Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, Industrial Hygiene, and other applicable regulations. Previous terminal, LPG, gauging, or industrial maintenance experience. Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
