Job Summary
The Universal Banker plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience by performing both teller and personal banking responsibilities. This position is responsible for processing routine financial transactions, assisting customers with account services, and proactively identifying opportunities to recommend bank products and services.
Essential Duties and other Responsibilities
Greet customers professionally and courteously, delivering prompt, efficient, and accurate service.
Perform a wide range of banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, account transfers, loan payments, and issuance of official checks.
Assist customers with opening, closing, and maintaining accounts, ensuring compliance with required documentation and disclosures.
Respond to customer inquiries and provide support on products, services, and general banking questions.
Assess customer needs and cross-sell or refer appropriate bank products and services such as savings accounts, credit cards, online banking, and mobile banking.
Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, balance cash drawer daily.
Provide specialized services including stop payments, account reconciliation, check orders, notary services, debit card issuance, and foreign currency exchanges when applicable.
Monitor for and report suspicious activity or potential fraud in compliance with regulatory and security policies.
Assist with branch opening and closing procedures, including securing cash, balancing vaults, and setting up or shutting down systems.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of all bank products, services, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and consistent information is provided to customers.
Uphold bank policies and procedures, including those related to privacy, security, and compliance.
Support daily branch operations, assist coworkers as needed, and serve as receptionist when required.
Keep teller station and work areas clean and organized, maintaining a professional appearance.
Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current on bank products, services, systems, and compliance requirements.
Provide backup support to other roles or departments within the branch as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
