Job Description


We\'re looking for Telemetry RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Brattleboro, VT. The right RN should have 1-2 years\' recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements.

As a TELE Travel Nurse, you will provide care by connecting patients to machines that measure heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rate, as well as blood-oxygen levels and electrocardiogram information. These machines then send data to computer screens for RNs to monitor. Telemetry RNs read and interpret the data to better determine patient care.

As a TELE Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

  • Provide basic bedside care.
  • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
  • Identify irregular telemetry readings and notify appropriate medical team members.
  • Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
TELE Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. RNs must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Certs required: ACLS,BLS Experience required: 2 Years COVID Vaccine Required Facility does prescreen/interview with our clinical team! Must be COVID vaccinated and have booster! Must not live within 50 miles of the hospital. Will consider first time travelers but prefer travel experience. Must have American Heart Association ACLS. Cancelation policy: 1 shift per pay period and 4 total per 13 week contract Telemetry, Step Down, & Progressive Care-Questions to ask for job need What are the typical patients a traveler will see on this unit? (Cardiac only, Medical, Surgical) Medical, Surgical, and Cardiac What level of trauma facility, if any, is your facility? None How big is your facility (# of beds)? 61 bed - small, rural community hospital. How many beds on the Unit? 23 bed department What is the Nurse to patient ratio? Days and Evenings typically 1 nurse to 4-5 patients, Nights typically 1 nurse to 5-6 patients Will the traveler be floating? To which units? First or in rotation with perm staff? Staffing is such that we typically do NOT have the capability to float travelers to other departments What Certifications does this position require? (Typically BCLS & ACLS) BLS and ACLS What Med System do you use? Cerner Community Works What type of charting do you utilize? Electronic - Cerner Community Works How many years experience do you require for this position? Travelers should have a minimum of 1 year experience Are there any specific equipment, procedures or skills that someone needs for your unit besides what we have talked about so far? Telemetry certification What tourist attractions or points of interest are in your area, any attractions that would be enticing for a traveler to come to your area?
