Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecommunications Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications, electrical, and mechanical fields, and will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing telecommunications equipment, including computer hardware and network infrastructure. This role requires individuals who are comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions.

Duties:

- Install, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex telecommunications issues, including network connectivity problems.
- Perform routine maintenance on telecommunications equipment and systems, including cleaning and lubricating parts.
- Install and connect computer hardware and network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and servers.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to disassemble and reassemble telecommunications equipment.
- Build and install new telecommunications systems and networks.
- Use electrical and locksmithing skills to secure and power telecommunications equipment.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to assess telecommunications needs and identify potential issues.
- Collaborate with other technicians and support staff to resolve complex telecommunications problems.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry developments, including NEC standards and IDS best practices.
- Telecommunicate with customers and internal stakeholders to provide updates and support.

Requirements:

- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A certificate in telecommunications, electrical, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in telecommunications maintenance and repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with computer hardware and network infrastructure.
- Proficiency in using electrical and locksmithing tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with NEC standards and IDS best practices.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for site visits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
