Duties

  • The position involves the planning, implementation, and program management of the various telecommunications programs, systems, and services.
  • The work includes responsibility for management functions such as planning, recommending changes, and determining organizational structure, staffing, training, and budgetary requirements.
  • Manage, valuate, and analyze telecommunications request for new or changed service in the area of responsibility to ensure the selection of operationally satisfactory and economical alternatives within DOD, DISA, and OPS objectives and practices.
  • Engages with DISA customers worldwide, coordinates and helps to clarify requirements.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. Individuals tentatively selected will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement and random drug testing after appointment.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Individual Occupational Requirements for positions in the 0391 series: To qualify for this position you must meet one of the basic requirements described below:
Education:
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
OR
Specialized Experience managing or evaluating telecommunication requests for changes to established systems such as planning, recommending changes, or determining organizational structure, staffing, training, or budgetary requirements and serving as a point of contact for customers by resolving problems or providing information.
In addition to: Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Managing, evaluating, and analyzing telecommunication requests from customers/stakeholders aiming to address their needs, resolve problems, provide information, and ultimately ensure a positive customer experience.
Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Education
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-12 grade level.
