General Summary: The Telecom Design Coordinator at TechServ will manage eight skilled designers specializing in comprehensive outside plant (OSP) design solutions for fiber optic and coaxial systems. This role requires in-depth knowledge of OSP design processes and an ability to effectively coordinate and direct a team to deliver high-quality designs tailored to client needs and specifications. Responsibilities and Duties:

Core Responsibilities

  • Team Coordination and Management: Supervise a team of eight designers, assigning tasks and responsibilities, and ensuring alignment with project objectives and schedules. Provide guidance, training, and feedback to facilitate the growth and efficiency of team members.
  • Project Management: Oversee all design projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. Responsible for tracking and reporting project progress, resolving any issues that arise, and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs match client specifications and comply with relevant industry standards. Oversee the analysis of field survey maps and existing infrastructure to identify optimal routes, distribution points, and splice locations.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the team to develop a comprehensive network plan considering variables such as distance, terrain conditions, existing infrastructure, potential obstacles, and future scalability needs.
  • Software Proficiency: Lead the team in the effective utilization of software tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, Microsoft Excel, and other client-specific software. Leverage these tools for spatial data analysis, mapping, visualization, data analysis, cost calculation, and comprehensive project documentation.
  • Adaptability: Be prepared for continual changes in client specifications based on regions and their associated conditions. Guide the team seamlessly adapting to these changes and incorporating them into the design process.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify potential challenges and obstacles in the design process and develop strategic solutions to overcome them.
Day-to-day duties
  • Create/Execute project plans.
  • Monitor project status and provide feedback to the project manager.
  • Track designers\xe2\x80\x99/technicians\xe2\x80\x99 progress and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Ensure all project deadlines are adhered to.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation and reports throughout the tracking process.
Qualifications and Skills: * Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America.
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, including project managers, stakeholders, and designers in a multi-disciplined team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel or any project management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of the English language, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent time and project management capabilities to meet deadlines.
  • Inquisitive by nature, driven entrepreneur.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor in a field of Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications Industry, or any other related degree.
  • 1-2 years of project coordinator experience.
  • High level of knowledge of fiber and coax cable processes, preferred.
