Unit Information

You'll join a Tele Neuro unit specializing in high-acuity telemetry and neuro-related medical care such as strokes, post-TPA patients, TIAs, head bleeds, post-surgical telemetry cases, and neuro-progressive patients.

Floating may occur to Cardiac Tele or MedSurg Oncology. Unit uses GE monitors and requires strong EKG interpretation skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care to Tele Neuro patients including CVA post-TPA, TIAs, head bleeds, carotids, thoracotomies, AICDs, and post-surgical telemetry Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry (GE monitors) Manage and titrate basic drips as assigned Collaborate effectively with neurologists, intensivists, and interdisciplinary teams Respond to neuro changes using NIHSS-driven assessments Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR Participate in day-one SIM LAB (pass/fail) Float safely to Cardiac Tele and MedSurg Oncology as needed Uphold patient safety and evidence-based nursing standards

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry or Tele Neuro RN experience Must have prior

travel nursing

experience

Cerner experience required

Strong neuro assessment and telemetry experience required Ability to work independently and float safely across units

Education

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program Current RN license (state or compact)

Certifications

BLS ACLS NIHSS

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of neuro telemetry protocols Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation Solid neuro assessment and stroke management skills Skilled in titrating basic drips Working knowledge of Cerner EMR Ability to prioritize in high-acuity, fast-moving environments
