The Facilities, Events Set-Up Technician, under immediate supervision of the Facilities Events Set-Up Coordinator is an important position to the college because all duties performed are visible and contribute greatly to the environment and overall appeal at each campus and in each building. This position knows fundamental concepts of events set-up to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for the events at all campuses and sites operated by Salt Lake Community College (SLCC).
This position will ensure that all SLCC, Facilities, events setup and custodial required training is completed and maintained to provide the consistent, reliable, and timely facilities support to the College by the event setup team.
This position has a regular schedule but requires flexibility and must be available to work on call for snow removal, events setup and other building clean up emergencies, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Must be willing to respond to campus emergencies during off-hours, as necessary.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm
Days and times are subject to change due to event needs.
Set-up, teardown, and clean-up of SLCC events.
Complete and maintain all SLCC, Facilities, Events setup and custodial required training.
Assist with work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Sprocket).
Clean and maintain the event inventory and equipment.
Clean and organize event storage areas.
Maintain effective event setup processes and programs.
Remove snow and ice around entrance ways and steps of buildings.
Maintain all sidewalks at entrance ways to ensure that snow and/or ice at said locations will not cause closure of the College.
Assist furniture movers crew as needed.
Perform minor custodial duties such as maintaining the inside and outside of all facilities as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Computer and data entry skills.
Basic MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders.
Ability to safely move 75 lbs.
Ability to position oneself to setup and teardown events.
Ability to safely use a ladder on a regular basis.
Basic knowledge of event setup and custodial equipment maintenance and tool usage.
Ability to operate different types of custodial and moving equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
Minimum qualifications

Associate's degree (60 credit hours completed).
One year of related full-time experience.
Trade off 1:1 in experience/education requirement.
Part time experience may be considered on a prorated basis.
