Technical Writer - Scribe
On Site: Anniston AL
US Citizenship Required
W2 hourly rate: $25 to $35 per hour

Are you a US Citizen with experience creating complex technical documentation? Do you want to put your knowledge of military publications and standards to good use? If you're looking for a long term gig where you'll have every other Friday off and a good work balance-this could be for you!

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Scribe for a long term W2 hourly contract in Anniston. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for reviewing, performing, and capturing comments related to drafted Operator, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting procedures for technical accuracy, adequacy, logic, functionality, as well as MIL-STD compliance and improvement for military applications.

This position does not require a degree, but it does requireActive Secret Clearance and US Citizenship-will consider previously held or Interim Clearance. 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a military or defense-related industry 2+ years of experience working with military documentation, including: + Technical manuals
+ Repair manuals
+ raining materials
+ Military standards and regulations (e.g., MIL-STD-40051/Mil-Hdbk-1222
Experience creating complex technical documentation, including technical manuals, repair manuals, and training materials Certifications in technical writing or a related field Continuing education or professional development in technical writing, editing, and communication Military Occupational Specialty (MOS): 91P, 91H, 91M, or 91A Relevant Coursework in technical writing, editing, and communication, in military studies, defense-related fields, or technical fields (e.g., engineering, computer science) Familiarity with military standards and regulations (e.g., MIL-STD-40051) Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate documentation Effective communication skills, both written and verbal including strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills Familiarity with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) Knowledge of military vehicles and or knowledge of military publications Basic understanding of MIL-STD-40051 Ability to analyze complex technical information and simplify it for various audiences Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve documentation issues Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and files
