POSITION: Technical Trainer

LOCATION: Blackfoot, Idaho

JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical Trainer at Spudnik Equipment Company is responsible for providing comprehensive technical training and product support to employees, customers, vendors, and dealers. The Technical trainer will design, maintain, and implement the methods and curriculum of a Spudnik Training Program for Spudnik and Dealer Service Technicians. Teamwork and customer service skills are important as the Specialist works directly and indirectly with employees, managers, supervisors, customers, dealers and outside vendors. The Technical Trainer will work in a variety of environments and will be required to travel up to an estimated 20% annually. The Technical Trainer will consistently demonstrate a high level of responsibility and accountability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

  • Deliver high quality technical trainings from the Spudnik Training Program to Service Technicians, Sales Consultants, and Customers.
  • Develop Trainings for the setup, troubleshooting, and operation for each Spudnik model that include basic principles of Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Electrical (1.5 \xe2\x80\x93 24VDC to 110-600 VAC) functions.
  • Develop KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of individual trainings, and the training program in general.
  • Work with Service Managers to develop levels of proficiency to give Service Technicians a clear path of advancement (levels should tie in with Service and Repair Department\xe2\x80\x99s expectations for Technicians).
  • Develop and maintain a database of technical documentation, trainings, troubleshooting, and issue resolution information that is easily accessible for Spudnik and Dealer Service Technicians.
  • Respond to technical support calls involving set-up, operation, and troubleshooting inquiries, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to address all known issues from previous season in order to create effective resolutions before the next season and identify potential training needs.
  • Develop clear expectations for how training costs will be billed to Dealers, and Customers.
  • Develop a marketing strategy for the Spudnik Training Program to Spudnik and Dealer Service Technicians, and Customers.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 1-year experience in agricultural industry with experience in potato industry preferred.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Agricultural or similar engineering field, or degree in Diesel, Hydraulic, or Electrical technology with three to five years of similarly related workplace experience.
  • Minimum 3-years\xe2\x80\x99 experience training or teaching groups/individuals preferred.
  • Strong understanding and of and ability to work with hydraulic, electronic, and mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to calculate, analyze, and track figures and competently make decision based on those figures.
  • Ability to successfully manage, prioritize, and organize multiple projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate in groups or one-on-one settings.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service for both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to effectively work with ERP system, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software.
PAY: Salaried exempt, DOE
