Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Technical Software Development Lead to support a mission-critical traveler processing and security program in Ashburn, VA. This is an opportunity supporting a national initiative to streamline and secure the processing of travelers at airports and seaports. The Technical Software Development Lead will work on-site twice per week, contributing to the design, development, and sustainment of scalable web applications that enhance CBP's operational capabilities.
Responsibilities for the Technical Software Development Lead include:

• Lead full-cycle software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, and maintenance
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams using SCRUM and SAFe methodologies
• Translate customer requirements into user stories and deliver working features each sprint
• Mentor junior developers and guide technical decision-making across the team
• Participate in sprint demos and retrospectives, driving continuous improvement

Required Qualifications for the Technical Software Development Lead include:

• Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 12+ years
• Expertise in Java, React, and Angular development
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration, databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle), frontend development (React, Angular), large scale web application development
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation

Compensation for the Technical Software Development Lead includes:

• Salary Range: $150,000-$170,000 depending on experience
