Job Overview

The Technical Services Packaging Specialist applies advanced expertise in packaging processes and technologies to support site operations. This role ensures alignment between customer needs, internal technical strategies, organizational goals, and regulatory requirements. The specialist leads the introduction of new packaging technologies and oversees all qualification and validation activities related to packaging processes.

The position requires the ability to manage cross-functional projects with limited supervision while troubleshooting and resolving moderate to highly complex packaging issues. The specialist provides both immediate corrective actions and long-term process solutions, ensuring that all initiatives meet business, quality, and compliance expectations and comply with applicable regulations and internal standards.

Responsibilities

Identify and support opportunities to improve packaging quality, process efficiency, yield, cost-effectiveness, and compliance. Lead the implementation of new packaging technologies, processes, and modifications to existing systems. Recommend and execute continuous improvements in packaging operations. Provide technical guidance to packaging teams to resolve quality concerns. Offer technical expertise to enhance line performance and overall efficiency. Support audit readiness and assist in fulfilling commitments from regulatory inspections. Develop, document, and execute validation strategies for new packaging processes, equipment, and configurations. Deliver assigned action items related to packaging tech transfers for consumer products within established timelines. Drive improvements in new packaging processes, configurations, and products. Actively participate in internal and external regulatory inspections.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. 12-15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

Physical conditions in which work will be performed: lifting, sitting, standing, walking. Work performed in both office and production floor environments. Ability to travel as required.
