Job Description


ABOUT THE POSITION The purpose of this position is to develop the Technical Documentation file for all new plants and/or plant components to enable the customer to identify parts that were used to build their equipment. This position also assembles Operation & Service Manuals for all new plants to enable customers to operate and maintain their equipment. This position interfaces with multiple departments and reports to the Director of Technical Documentation. Key Deliverables

  • Writes technical copy for manuals, user\'s guides, and publications.
  • Complies digital Manuals on the eCommerce site.
  • Produce manuals based on engineering data and manufacturing production schedule.
  • Review Bill of Materials changes to ensure that all updates have been made for the manuals.
  • Manually assemble technical publication hard copies for customers.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
  • Compiles and publishes product manuals in accordance with manufacturing production schedule.
  • Reviews drawing and bill-of-material changes for impact to publication data; schedules and incorporates changes into manuals.
  • Reviews drawings and design reports, writes text, and coordinates layout and design of materials.
  • Perform graphics work for catalogs, operator manuals, service manuals, and similar.
  • Load and manage content to online storefront for customer ordered publication reprints.
  • Maintain online catalogs and eCommerce content.
  • Will take the manuals that have been previously created and will make sure they are updated with changes that may come.
  • Communicate with the Engineering Service and Sales Teams effectively.
  • Depending on the functions of the role there may be a specific focus for the manuals that are being produced.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
  • Associates degree in engineering/design, CAD certification, or applicable experience in drafting/modeling required.
  • Training and/or experience in SolidWorks required. Training and/or experience in Composer and/or Documoto preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data including engineering drawings, maintenance and operations manuals, and other technical information.
  • Proficient in use of Windows-based programs (Word, Excel, Teams, & SharePoint) is required.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Must have solid written communication skills. Technical writing, editing and documentation experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficient with development of online parts catalogs would be ideal but not required.
  • 3+ year experience or education working with and/or interpreting engineering data or engineering drawings.
  • 3+ year of experience or education developing technical publications preferred.
  • Graphic design skills or desktop publishing skills preferred (InDesign, Photoshop, FrameMaker and Illustrator) but not required.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $56,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year Benefits:
