Come join our product family in FAS Technology (FAST) as we enhance the FAS Digital Advisor Experience. The Portfolio Construction product family is looking for a Tech Lead to help us build a world-class digital user experience for our Advisors.

In this role, you will provide technical direction, expertise and coaching to a cross-functional scrum team working on the Model Portfolios application. Models is a web-based tool that provides FAS Advisors with Vanguard\'s asset allocation strategy in diversified, low-cost portfolios. You will collaborate directly with product owners, designers, developers, scrum masters and architects to envision solutions and influence our technology roadmap and strategy to achieve business outcomes. You will build relationships, enhance your technical expertise, and lead continuous improvement and innovation in engineering.

You will have opportunities to act on direct feedback from clients and advisors and have your ideas heard, working with the latest technology including Angular 12, RESTful services, and AWS services like ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB. Preferred Skills:

Angular expert

Experience with AWS (E.g. ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB)

Excellent programming experience in Java 8 or Java 11

Highly collaborative, fast learner, willing to work wherever you\xe2\x80\x99re needed on the team

Experience with software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms

Excellent Javascript/Typescript knowledge and programming experience with ES5/ES6

Solid understanding and extensive experience with Git

Experience with Spring Boot for Webservice Applications

Experience with CI/CD

Experience with tools like NgRx, Redux, RxJS, Angular CLI and/or NX

Experience with NodeJS

Experience consuming and developing REST APIs

TDD/BDD experience (Cypress, Jest, Jasmine, Karma or Chai)

Experience with client-side architecture and design patterns

In this role you will:

Provide advanced level IT technical lead services and direction for software, middleware, or hardware projects on a single platform. Provides technical expertise and completes complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities.

Ensure the viability of IT deliverables. Recommends development options and conducts testing.

Identify potential solutions and may approve solutions proposed by team members. Resolves complex issues uncovered by testers and internal clients.

Communicate with key stakeholders on project issues and implications. Evaluates the impacts of change requests on technologies.

Maintain current knowledge of IT development methodology, architecture design, and technical standards. Mentors IT staff with less experience and identifies training needs.

Review and approve documentation and diagrams created by IT team members. Writes documentation, including technical standards and processes.

Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and technologies.

May participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout product life cycle to contribute technical expertise and to identify issues. Presents technical status and issues at milestone reviews.

Thoroughly understand and comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures, and verifies that deliverables meet requirements.

Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

Minimum of five years related work experience, with at least two years of development experience.

Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
