Summary
Mountain Manufacturing is seeking a Technical Engineering Coordinator to join our dynamic team in supporting both Sales and Engineering functions. This position ensures accurate and timely handling of quotes, orders, and customer communications while providing research and context for historical job and quote data to assist engineering in re-quotes and new projects. The role also involves coordinating with customers, vendors, and internal teams to clarify technical details, source materials, and maintain alignment between quote lead times and production capacity.
Responsibilities
Fully support Sales and Engineering teams by researching historical quotes and job history, summarizing findings, and providing useful context for engineering staff to review and re-quote.
Communicate directly with customers to clarify quote or purchase order details, including CAD/CAM requirements, print specifications, and other technical needs.
Prepare and distribute supporting documentation to appropriate teams for new and repeat work.
Work with vendors to obtain competitive material quotes, source components, and ensure timely delivery to meet project requirements.
Support the contract review process by verifying details and ensuring compliance with customer requirements and company standards.
Collaborate with the scheduler to confirm that quoted lead times align with current production capacity.
Assist the outside sales team with new customer interactions, providing administrative support and participating in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities as needed.
Enter and process repeat work using templates and historical data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Maintain accurate records in ERP/JobBoss and other systems for quotes, orders, purchase orders, and material tracking.
Report on sales and operational metrics, including quote status, backlog, and key performance indicators, to support planning and decision-making.
Communicate order status, delivery schedules, and updates to customers and internal teams promptly and professionally.
Participate in weekly meetings to align priorities and ensure customer expectations are met.
Cross-train in other departments (customer service/purchasing) to provide team coverage as needed.
Maintain detailed documentation of engineering procedures and project progress.
Facilitate communication between clients and internal teams to meet project specifications.
Qualifications
Proven experience in engineering coordination or related roles within manufacturing or product development.
Basic knowledge of CNC machining, fabrication, and process development.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience is equally valued.
