Summary:



The Technical Build Lead is a hands-on technical build leader responsible for turning ambitious creative concepts into tangible, buildable, durable assets often under aggressive timelines and with multiple builds underway simultaneously. This role is the second-in-command to the Technical Design Engineer and works across creative, engineering, project management, production, and installation to ensure projects are engineered smart, fabricated clean, and delivered show-ready. This is not a "single lane" role. You'll help deliver projects like oversized scenic props, interactive builds, custom bars, counters, and mixed-material brand assets using wood, metal, acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, foam, coatings, paint, and integrated lighting, AV, and mechanisms.

Responsibilities and Duties:



Responsible for refining concepts into fabrication-ready plans: structure, materials, finishes, and install strategy. Identify risks early (stability, safety, transport, installation conditions, durability) and drive solutions that protect the look and function. Collaborate with creative/engineering to produce and/or improve shop drawings, build details, cut lists, BOMs, templates, and fabrication packets. Assist in estimating by analyzing designs, materials, production timelines, and workflow to help deliver accurate, profitable quotes. Oversee final technical reviews and QC to ensure builds meet Pinpoint standards for fit, finish, durability, and install readiness. Be a technical mentor to builders and fabricators, improve repeatability, and help build tools, processes, and documentation that raise the bar. Support installs when needed, install planning, install guides, on-site troubleshooting, and field fixes.

Skills and requirements needed to succeed:



8-15+ years of experience in experiential/scenic fabrication, custom builds, events, museum, exhibits, trade show, signage builds, or similar.

High proficiency across mixed materials and processes: wood fabrication/carpentry, metal fabrication/welding coordination, plastics (acrylic/polycarbonate/PVC), foam fabrication, hardware/fasteners, laminates, paint, and finishing. Strong ability to translate creative intent into real-world build solutions, fast, clean, safe, and repeatable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; can coordinate between teams and keep projects aligned. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires rapid turnaround, shifting priorities, and consistent execution. Ability to provide creative yet practical solutions in the shop and on-site. Can easily lift 60 lbs. Ability and flexibility to travel for multiple days and work weekends, holidays when required by installs. Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational and project management skills Must have a positive and professional attitude with high energy, yet a level-headed personality with a "can-do" attitude

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
