Under the supervision of the Regional Laboratory Director, manages the direction and supervision of all personnel in Laboratory sections including chemistry, hematology/urinalysis/serology, blood bank, microbiology, POCT, laboratory education, laboratory office, phlebotomy, and laboratory maintenance service. Coordinates essential factors of quality assurance for clinical laboratory service including; competence of personnel; quality of materials (methods, reagents, and instruments) validation of test methods, internal quality control, and reliable reporting systems. Facilitates intra-hospital and intra-laboratory communications. Ensures compliance with accreditation guidelines. .Assures adequate scheduling for the section. Manages new employee orientation for the section. Supervises inventory and purchase of materials. Participates in problem solving as needed. Develops laboratory tests and writes new standard operating procedures, to be approved by the Laboratory Director. Employs organizational strategies in a balanced approach that produces meaningful contributions to each element of the Formula for Success. Requires the promotion of and adherence to the organization's established Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while begin sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as evidenced by leaving notes, exchanging emails, and proper phone etiquette.
Properly utilizes laboratory equipment, microscopes, and instrumentation which will be demonstrated during the clinical orientation phase.
Troubleshoots technical multiple pieces of laboratory equipment, microscopes, and instrumentation using available resources such as equipment user manual, hospital procedures, and/or technical support.
Utilizes safe laboratory work habits in all situations to avoid potential accidents or injuries.
Multitasks and prioritizes workload to ensure an efficient workflow.
Performs laboratory tests with precision and accuracy in a timely manner to ensure quality patient care.
Follows laboratory guidelines set forth by CLIA to ensure the department meets or exceeds all laboratory requirements.
Uses organizational and leadership skills to maintain proper day-to-day functions.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Bachelor degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or other laboratory science preferred. Minimum of Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
Work Experience:
Four years laboratory experience required.
Certification/Licensure - Preferred
+ Eligible for ASCP or other certification in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or other Laboratory Science.
Additional Certification/Licensure - Preferred
Basic Life Support
