Team Leader Sterile Processing Job, Night Shift (11p-7:30a), Central Sterilizing
Powers Health is hiring a full-time Team Lead for central sterilizing at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.
Central Sterilizing directly supports surgical services by cleaning, organizing, and sterilizing surgical supplies used in the operating rooms at Community Hospital.
Team Leader Sterile Processing
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities of technical personnel engaged in activities designed to provide sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and instruments necessary for patient use.
Participates in the development of short- and long-term goals for the department.
Participates in the formulation of policies and procedures and ensures all policy and procedures that are implemented are followed.
Assists in the orientation and training of staff personnel; provides feedback on the performance of subordinates.
Has the ability to adjust schedules and assignments when necessary.
Monitors the decontamination, processing, sterilization, storage, and distribution of instruments and other sterilized materials.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Two (2) years of previous Central Sterilization experience required.
Previous Team Lead/Supervisory experience is preferred.
HSPA or ASHCSP certification is required.
Requires a thorough knowledge of the functions of decontamination, preparation, sterilization, packaging, and distribution of sterile equipment and instrumentation.
