The Team Leader oversees daily operations of the Forensic Enhanced Supportive Housing Program, which serves individuals with a serious mental illness, housing instability, and involvement in the criminal justice system. This position is responsible for supervising 8-10 staff, providing guidance to ensure quality service delivery, facilitating community reintegration, and maintaining compliance with agency an funder standards. The role demands leadership, crisis intervention experience, and collaboration with behavioral health and justice partners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and support a team of 8-10 staff ensuring program goals and service standards are met.
Foster a trauma-informed, and person-centered approach among team members. Conduct team meetings and individual supervision to review service delivery and documentation.
Coach, evaluate, and provide professional development for direct reports.
Ensure compliance with documentation standards and agency/funder policies.
Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new staff as assigned.
Support coordination of housing retention, behavioral health, employment, and reentry services.
Engage justice system partners, behavioral health providers, and community resources for wraparound care.
Respond to crises, offering on-site support and intervention.
Maintain visibility at program sites and model effective client engagement.
Act as liaison to Union Mission leadership, law enforcement, housing authorities, and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with community partners and property management to maintain service coordination.
Represent The Union Mission at professional events, trainings, and meetings.
Support participants in accessing external services (e.g., employment, legal aid, stabilization resources).
Monitor and ensure accurate and timely use of data and case management systems (HMIS, ClientTrack, etc.).
Uphold program compliance with laws and ethical standards for justice-involved populations.
Participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives.
Participate in the agency's on-call rotation for after-hours support.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director or Executive Director.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of three years' experience in social services, housing, reentry, or behavioral health required.
Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care, and crisis de-escalation techniques.
Experience with formerly incarcerated individuals or individuals with behavioral health challenges preferred.
Excellent communication, team leadership, and organizational skills.
Reliable transportation for field-based responsibilities.
Must not be excluded from federal health programs (Medicare/Medicaid). Must successfully obtain PA State Police Criminal Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree minimum; related experience and advanced degree preferred.
Must maintain required clearances and certifications.
Must demonstrate ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and manage complex client needs.
Flexible schedule and participation in after-hours on-call support.
