Job Description
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School seeks an energetic, dedicated teacher to work with students in the Marian Program. The Special Education Teacher will support students who have academic support plans. The Special Education Teacher will also work with families and Marian Director to support students and families through the process of identifying learning challenges. This position includes supervision and support of students within the Marian Program as well as other students who may require academic support and intervention. Job Responsibilities:
- Participate on the Student Advocacy Team to monitor student progress and interventions
- Design and implement intervention and academic support for students
- Develop and monitor Student Accommodation Plans for students with diagnosed learning needs.
- Support and advise classroom teachers regarding successful learning strategies for students with learning disabilities.
- Conference with families and teachers regarding student progress
Qualifications:
- Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Special Education
- MSDE Certification in Special Education
- 3 -5 years of experience in the position, preferred
- Knowledge of child development and supervision
- Practicing Catholic preferred
- Experience teaching in an elementary and middle school setting
- Commitment to Catholic Education and Our Lady of Perpetual Help School
