Builds trust quickly and genuinely. De-escalates emotional or behavioral challenges while keeping learning moving. Creates a safe and structured environment where every student can succeed.

3. Experience With Behavioral Complexity

Comfortable supporting students who struggle with self-regulation, directions, conflict, and routine. Able to redirect effectively and collaborate with behavior staff when needed. Understands how to balance empathy with accountability.

4. Highly Structured and Consistent

Designs organized lessons and predictable routines. Executes smooth transitions and follows through consistently. Keeps the class focused, secure, and academically on track.

5. Assertive, Not Harsh

Communicates: "I care about you, and I am in charge." Models respect, calm leadership, and positive discipline.

6. Collaborative Team Member

Works closely with administration and support staff. Welcomes coaching and school-wide expectations. Communicates openly with colleagues and families.

Responsibilities

Teach core 4th-grade subjects using school curriculum and standards. Implement consistent routines and behavior expectations. Build strong relationships with students while maintaining clear authority. Manage a range of behavioral needs with confidence and compassion. Communicate regularly with families about progress and concerns. Collaborate with the Dean of Students, administration, and support staff. Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and team planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required). Prior experience working with students with behavioral needs (preferred). Proven success managing a busy, active elementary classroom. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Calm, steady presence and a growth-oriented mindset.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
