Teacher Assistant/Paraprofessional School for Special Needs Children

Job Overview:

The Children's Center of Monmouth County, a private school for students with special needs, in existence for over 35 years, is in need of Teacher Assistants/Paraprofessionals who will play a critical role in supporting students with learning needs. You will work closely with teachers and support staff and help facilitate an inclusive and effective learning experience for students requiring additional assistance. Some Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the teacher in implementing individualized education plans. Provide support and behavior management. Facilitate small group activities and one-on-one instruction. Help students with daily living skills, personal care, and social interactions. Monitor student progress and report observations to the teacher. Collaborate with support professionals to develop/adapt materials Maintain a safe, secure. and engaging environment conducive to learning.

Skills

HS Diploma or its equivalent Some practical knowledge of special needs education, principles, and practices. Strong communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Patience, empathy, and interest supporting student growth/development. Previous experience working with students with special needs is highly desirable.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
