JOB/POSITION TITLE:

Teacher Assistant/Office Clerk

OFFICE/CAMPUS:

Principal's/Bento Elementary

REPORTS TO:

Elementary Principal/Vice Principal

STATUS:

12 months, Full-time, Non-exempt


HOURLY WAGE RATE:

$19.50-$21.00


PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To supervise students and monitor their safety on the playground, in the cafeteria and at drop off/pick up. To assist teachers with specific tasks and to assist with office responsibilities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:




Share the love and faith in Jesus Christ with students.

Teacher Assistant Duties


Supervise students in the classroom and/or on the playground and cafeteria. Supervise students at drop off/pick up car lines. Write reports of injuries, disciplinary problems, or students' needs and/or follow-up. Support teachers by making copies and laminating Other duties as assigned by the Vice Principal

Office Clerk Duties:


Assist the Principal's assistant with general office duties, including answering phone, responding to family emails, ordering and distributing books and materials, assisting parent student and visitor walk-ins and other needs as they arise. Assist Principals' assistant with morning tardies as needed Cross train responsibilities with Principals' Administrative Assistant and Health Aide Manage soft and hard copy cumulative files (report cards, parent-teacher conference notes, testing results) Assist with generating various documents, forms and online set up throughout the school year (class rosters, pick up placards, student name tags, award certificates, PikMyKid set up etc...) Other duties as assigned by the Principal

WORKING CONDITIONS:



Equipment and Software Use: Computer, Copy machine, multi-line telephone, laminator, MS Office, Google Suite, Blackbaud Work Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday - Friday. Mental Demands: Sensitivity to students' needs, following instruction, basic mathematics, attention to detail, alertness, and initiative to be able to make quick and rational decisions. Alertness with dealing with parents, students and staff; ability to retain and recall information and work cooperatively with staff. Ability to think analytically and perform multiple tasks effectively. Physical Demands: Corrected vision, ability to walk with students, ability to climb stairs, ability to stand, sit, and kneel for periods to supervise students. Social Demands: Ability to communicate with all stakeholders in a friendly and concise way.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:




Spiritual: Must have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life and; demonstrate a living relationship with Jesus Christ as described in "The Baptist Faith and Message", the tenets of the Southern Baptist denomination. Skills/Knowledge: First Aid, CPR and AED trained (repeated every 2 years), basic clerical skills, able to read, write, and communicate well in English. Education/Training: High School Diploma, College degree preferred. Knowledge of operating multiple office machines. * Experience: Previous experience working with children and/or in an office setting.
