We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and contribute to a positive learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily activities, supporting student development, and ensuring a safe and engaging educational experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children in various settings, including daycare, preschool, or early childhood programs.
Responsibilities
Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to children's developmental levels
Support children with their daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and bathroom breaks
Provide one-on-one support for children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning activities, and social interactions
Monitor children's behavior and assist with behavior management strategies
Support classroom management by supervising children during activities and transitions
Assist with documentation of student progress and communicate observations to lead teachers
Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow health and safety protocols
Skills
Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific needs
Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
Ability to work effectively with children with disabilities or special needs; experience in special education is a plus
Childcare experience including babysitting, nannying, or infant/toddler care is highly valued
First aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and staff
Compassionate, patient, adaptable, and attentive to children's individual needs
Experience with classroom activities that promote social-emotional development and early learning skills
