Teacher's Aid

JOB SUMMARY: Positive Support for Children with Autism DBA Daisy Care provides high quality daycare and therapeutic support using the principles of applied behavioral analysis (ABA). We are seeking a Teacher Assistant to work one of three available shifts: M-F 830am-530pm; M-F 830am-130pm; M-F 130pm-630pm. This position provides 1:1 support to children ages 2-7 with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the daycare setting. The Teacher Assistant will be responsible for implementing treatment plans created by the supervising Licensed Behavioral Analyst and will be responsible for the custodial care of children receiving daycare services. A qualified Teacher Assistant must be:

-At least 16 years of age by the first day of training.

-Have interest in advancing in the human service or education sectors.

-Experience working or volunteering with groups of small children.

-Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.

-Ability to walk, run and play active games with small children.

-Ability to operate the basic functions of an IPad and/or laptop, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

-Ability to consistently maintain a high level of professionalism including punctuality, effective time manager, and effective communication with all stakeholders.

-Registered Behavior Technician Certification or ability to complete indepentnely within the first 60 days of employment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to physically assist in lifting and carrying assaultive adolescents weighing up to 150 lbs.

Ability to visually and audibly assess adolescent's behavior and needs.

Ability to walk, run and play active games with the adolescents.

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 3 hrs at a time.
