Position Overview:

Upward Learning Center is seeking a

Contract Teacher Assistant

to support lead teachers in implementing Montessori and faith-based learning experiences for preschool children. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with young learners and desire to be part of a purpose-driven, family-centered school community.

Responsibilities:

Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and instruction Support children's growth through hands-on, play-based learning Help prepare and organize Montessori materials and learning areas Supervise children during classroom transitions, meals, and outdoor play Maintain a clean, safe, and positive classroom atmosphere Model Christian values and promote kindness, respect, and cooperation

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; ECE coursework preferred

Must pass background and health/safety screenings (FBI Fingerprinting)

Must complete SC State Registry (https://providerportal.dss.sc.gov/#/login)

Must complete 15-Hour SC Health and Safety Pre-Service Certificate and SC Continuing Education Services for Early Care and Education Professionals (https://www.prosolutionstraining.com/southcarolina/)

Must pass this course:

In-person

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED-BL-r.21 Experience working with preschool-aged children a plus Dependable, nurturing, and team-oriented Commitment to faith-based education and the Montessori philosophy

Contract Details:

Contract position (9-10 months, renewable based on performance and school needs) Contract position (summer enrichment program contract available) Monday-Friday schedule (hours vary by classroom) Competitive hourly rate based on experience
