Position Overview

This full-time, seasonal position with the potential to stay on permanently. This position is ideal for a tax preparer/ accountant who enjoys hands-on tax work, client interaction, and a steady workflow. We are willing to train in Drake Tax Software.

You'll work directly under a Senior Accountant, providing technical tax expertise and client support while collaborating with a small, experienced team in a professional yet relaxed environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual income tax returns. Experience in partnership and corporate tax returns preferred but not required. Assist with tax planning, research, and complex filings. Support bookkeeping and financial-statement preparation for small-business clients. Communicate with clients to obtain documentation and explain tax positions. Maintain accurate and organized workpapers and digital records. Participate in off-season process improvement, software updates, and client projects. Stay current with federal and Missouri tax laws and accounting standards.

Qualifications

Active EA/CPA preferred but not required 1-3 years of recent public-accounting experience. Strong knowledge of individual and small-business taxation. Experience with QuickBooks Desktop/Online, Sage 50 and Drake Tax (willing to train). Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills. Team-oriented mindset and ability to thrive during tax season.
