Job Description

The Tax and Treasury Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's tax compliance, reporting, and treasury operations. This role ensures adherence to all applicable domestic and international tax laws, manages corporate cash flow and liquidity, and develops policies to safeguard the organization's financial assets. The position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance

Lead the preparation, review, and timely filing of all federal, state and local tax returns Lead the preparation, review, and timely filing of all Canadian federal and provincial returns and other related annual compliance filings Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements Oversee tax audits, inquiries, and examinations, serving as the primary point of contact with tax authorities Coordinate with independent accountants and external tax advisors to prepare the annual tax provision, including deferred tax calculations and disclosures Oversee the accurate tracking, utilization, and carryforward of Net Operating Losses (NOLs) in compliance with applicable tax laws Monitor sales tax nexus in all jurisdictions to identify and assess new filing obligations Manage state sales tax registrations and coordinate appropriate implementation in Vertex

Treasury Management

Prepare and maintain a 13-week rolling cash forecast to support liquidity planning and decision-making Monitor and report on the daily cash position, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational and strategic needs Execute approved supplier and other disbursements through banking websites, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal authorization controls Develop and implement treasury policies, controls, and risk management strategies

Risk & Compliance

Manage the annual insurance policy renewal process, including evaluation of coverage levels, coordination with brokers, and negotiation of terms Coordinate and prepare timely, accurate responses to periodic governmental and regulatory surveys Ensure timely and accurate reporting and payments for other reporting obligations, including franchise tax, state incentives, and state business registrations Ensure all treasury and tax activities adhere to internal controls and corporate governance standards Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all tax and treasury transactions

Leadership & Collaboration

Collaborate with accounting, legal, FP&A, and business unit leaders to align financial strategies with corporate objectives Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field 7+ years accounting experience, including experience in the manufacturing industry Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Knowledge of current tax requirements and generally accepted accounting principles Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing priorities Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
