Fluor Corporation (NYSE:FLR), a Fortune 500 company, is one of the largest professional services firms, providing engineering, procurement, construction, fabrication and modularization, commissioning, and maintenance, as well as project management services, on a global basis. Fluor\'s Corporate Tax Department is seeking a Tax Analyst III at the Company\'s headquarters office located in Irving, Texas.

This position will be responsible for supporting the preparation of the global tax reporting for the group. The role will report directly to the global tax provision director and will be a key contributor. This position will be instrumental in taking responsibility for certain aspects of the tax reporting and tax operation process.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage the preparation of quarterly and year end US GAAP income tax provisions and tax related financial reporting disclosures
  • Responsible for reviewing current and deferred tax provision, inventory of deferred tax detail, roll forward of current and deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, return-to-provision true-up, and effective tax rate reconciliation
  • Provide tax analysis and reporting as it applies to the Company\'s financial forecast and long-range business plan
  • Understanding of US tax law and regulations, US GAAP and SEC regulations regarding accounting for income taxes
  • Coordinate with external and internal financial statement auditors
  • Assist with maintenance and compliance of key SOX controls
  • Assist with Federal audits and compliance
  • Build collaborative relationships with various business partners within the company
  • Other Duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
  • Must have bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance, tax or related field
  • CPA Certification required
  • 4+ years of recent tax experience in a public accounting firm and/or large multinational company (4+ years in provision experience)
  • Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft 365 (Office) software
  • Excellent documentation skills, and workpapers and memorandums
  • Having experience with tax provision software
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Juris Doctor Law (JD) certification or global equivalent required
  • Master of Science in Taxation (MST) and/or Master of Laws (LLM) degree or global equivalent
  • Four (4) years of recent tax experience in a public accounting firm, law firm and/or large multinational company
  • Two (2) years reviewing/preparing consolidated tax returns
  • Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • High critical thinking/reasoning ability
