Purdy Powers & Company is seeking a dynamic Tax Accountant to join our Tax Team in the Portland office. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, work across diverse industries, and contribute to high-quality tax solutions in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Provide clients with a comprehensive range of tax services, including planning, research, and compliance. Prepare tax returns for corporations, flow-through entities, and individuals with a high level of accuracy and technical proficiency. Research and consult on tax issues, offering strategic and well-supported recommendations. Proactively engage with client leadership to deliver meaningful business and tax insights that support long-term success. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and client service in all engagements. Assist with additional accounting and tax compliance tasks as needed to support client needs and firm objectives. Approach work with a holistic, solutions-focused mindset and contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking team culture.

Qualifications and Requirements:



Accounting majors completing their degree by December 2025 or May 2026 with a minimum 3.0 GPA are encouraged to apply. Candidates graduating with 150 credit hours are preferred but not required. Interest in pursuing CPA certification is preferred; support for exam preparation is available. Prior internship experience with a public accounting firm is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Accounting strongly preferred; Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) is a plus. Strong technical skills in accounting and tax compliance. Excellent analytical, written, and organizational abilities. Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to exceptional client service. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated leadership potential and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
