Overview
Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a talented Tax Accountant-State and Local Tax. Working with System Tax Director, ensure timely compliance with all state and local tax filings for Presbyterian Healthcare Services and its affiliates; including New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax; multiple states Payroll Withholding, Unemployment Insurance, and other returns; Multiple County Property Taxes, Unclaimed Property; and other areas as assigned.

Prefer Qualifications:
Experienced in state and local tax compliance, including NM Gross Receipts, multi-state payroll, property taxes, and unclaimed property. Skilled in supporting timely filings for healthcare affiliates.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Accounting emphasis preferred.
  • 3 years experience with multi-state Payroll Taxes with an accounting firm, a governmental agency, or a large business.
Responsibilities
  • Calculate and file monthly New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax and Compensating Tax returns.
  • Educate and assist Accounts Payable, Finance Staff and Managers with proper accrual of compensating tax.
  • Audit Compensating Tax accruals for accuracy and completeness.
  • Working with ADP system, ensure continuous compliance with all state payroll tax returns
  • File all Personal Property Tax returns
  • Assist Tax Director with Real Property Tax challenges
  • Assist in reconciling all tax-related General Ledger Accounts
  • Assist Payroll with employee tax-related inquiries
  • Assist Accounts Payable in all 1099-related inquires and with annual 1099 filings
  • Assist Tax Director in other projects as assigned.
  • Assist other business units as needed in state and local tax matters.
  • Other duties as assigned.
