As a Systems Security Engineer III, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, test, and implement our secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, and tuning. You\'ll be responsible for the management of our IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and developing and implementing security controls. You\'ll research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies in alignment with our IT security strategy and introduce them to the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Create/Prepare and Maintain systems for Assessment and Authorization (A&A) in accordance with established NIST guidelines.
  • Manage/schedule mandatory Information System (IS) patching, updating, and scanning based on vulnerabilities and threats or regulatory compliance; maintain the day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring for all systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation: Security Plan, Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M), Software/Hardware Inventory, Network diagrams, Risk Assessment Report, Contingency Plan, Incident Response Plan, Configuration Management, etc.
  • Conduct security control assessments; review the adequacy of the security controls and their ability to protect the system and its information; tailor the security controls to ensure compliance
  • Interface with company and customer staff at multiple levels and provide system security guidance.
  • Travel to other SNC facilities and customer sites only if needed.
Must-haves:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline and at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant work experience as an ISSO, ISSE, Network Analyst/Administrator/Engineer, Systems Analyst/Administrator/Engineer, IT Analyst/Administrator, Software Engineer, etc\xe2\x80\xa6 may substitute for the required education.
  • DoD 8570/8140 compliant: CAP, CISSP, CASP, and/or other equivalent certification.
  • Experience in supporting Information Technology (IT) within a classified environment
  • Experience administering Windows and/or UNIX and Linux operating systems in a client/server architecture.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • An active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance (or higher) is required. Willingness to do a poly once on board
Preferred:
  • Experience with VMware, Cisco, and VDI preferred.
  • Experience working with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.
  • Strong understanding of DoD applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and NIST special publications.
  • Experience working with security control assessment tools such as ACAS / Tenable Nessus, and SCAP Compliance Checker.
  • Strong communication skills, strong critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects; ability to work with people in a team environment and deal effectively with changing project priorities and a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Verbal and written communication Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Teams.
