As a Systems Security Engineer II, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, test, and implement our secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, and tuning. You\'ll be responsible for the management of our IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and developing and implementing security controls. You\'ll research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies in alignment with our IT security strategy and introduce them to the enterprise.

As a Systems Security Engineer II you will be a member of the highly organized IT department and ensure its network systems run efficiently. You will oversee various networks, including various internet disconnected networks and phone systems. You will evaluate the performance of each, diagnose potential networking issues and make repairs. You will specialize in network administration and systems, where you will work with various IT/Cyber personnel to complete a range of tasks such as

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing new solutions and testing the resilience of the existing network environment
  • Maintaining and administering computer networks, including hardware, software applications and configurations
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and find solutions to potential network and system issues
  • Monitoring performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Conduct regular maintenance tasks, such as managing security configurations, installing software patches and performing network upgrades
  • Communicate and collaborate with third-party vendors that provide services to ensure networks operate as per expectations
  • Ensuring and maintaining connectivity of different networks
  • Update existing network equipment and advising on the purchase of new systems
  • Protect data by maintaining firewalls, implementing data security systems and performing data backups when necessary
  • Plan the ongoing development of the network
  • Monitoring network usage
Must-haves:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline and typically 3 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • A current Security+ certification is required
  • An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required \xe2\x80\x8b
Preferred:
  • ISSM CAP, CISSP, or CISM Certification
  • ISSE CAP, CISSP-ISSEP Certification
  • ISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ Certification
  • MCSE, Linux, and/or CCNP Security Certification

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $91,154.71 - $125,337.72. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates\xe2\x80\x99 key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.
