The Role

Develops computer systems specifications that address business requirements and that fit with the companys system architecture standards. Establishes and documents system parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities. Revises existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.

Oversight and maintenance of the Master Schedule in Control-M, which houses all jobs to run in batch mode on multiple platforms, while maintaining balance based on priorities, available resources and cross-platform dependencies and development of schedule for all workloads. Schedule impact analysis as well as suggestion and provision of alternative scheduling scenarios. Coordinate all aspects of scheduled maintenance efforts by meeting the objectives of production functional requirements, as well as the requirements produced by system hardware/software maintenance personnel. Implementation and delivery of efficient and accurate operational processes, within adherence to corporate and sector policies, initiatives, and directives. Analysis, monitoring, and resolution of job schedule anomalies. Maintenance of scheduling and control procedures, processes and conventions, including preparation and maintenance of all auditable documentation as well as updating changes as they occur and assuring compliance. Maintenance of the Production On-Call and Documentation system. Supports processing of ad-hoc jobs and tasks for recovery, holidays, and other special processing.
This position requires rotating 24X7, 365 on-call support.

Must Have

Bachelor\'s Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.

One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor\'s Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate\'s Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor\'s Degree.


Nice to Have

Understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Ability to work with systems that process on multiple platforms, for example zOS/390, UNIX and Windows. Knowledge of networking and distributed computing concepts. Knowledge of scheduling and monitoring tools such as Control-M and Tivoli. Scripting tools and program languages, such as UNIX scripting, Perl, JCL, Visual Basic a plus. Focused on customer satisfaction.
Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other departments, and business units. Good verbal and written communications required.
Supervision Received
Limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.
