JOB SUMMARY

Working under the supervision of the IT Infrastructure Manager, the System Engineer provides technical systems administration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities while ensuring data redundancy, back-up, and disaster recovery. This position provides a high level of technical expertise and support for Campbell County Health systems while following all systems policies, procedures, standards, and support documentation requirements to ensure the highest-level of Information Technology Department services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provides subject matter expert (SME) level expertise on data center functional areas through administration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities while ensuring data redundancy, back-up, and disaster recovery:
  • Computer hardware and operating systems
  • Storage and storage area networks
  • Server - storage - network virtualization (SDDC)
  • Workload and data center automation
  • Private - public - hybrid cloud
  • Data center networking
  • Application load balancing/delivery
  • Data center security, backup & recovery
  • Business continuity
  • End-user computing (EUC)
  • Oversee all Server installation, configuration and security.
  • Participates in all project, planning and implementation meetings.
  • Proactively anticipates, via the monitoring plan, network and systems problems and provides resolution/ correction plan leadership through the appropriate Information Technology work team.
  • Develops positive working relationships with all departments/ managers/ staff physicians, and staff that utilizes server-based systems.
  • Works independently to gather requirements and translate those into solutions for the organization.
  • Takes ownership of key strategic projects and drives new opportunities/solutions.
  • Serves as a resource person for the daily operational issues of the hospital\'s server-based, web-based, or appliance-based systems. Constantly strives to provide the highest level of customer service.
  • Demonstrates personal commitment to the principles, values and ethics of the organization and department while complying with the hospital\xe2\x80\x99s corporate compliance program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Model accountability for learning by sharing knowledge and learning from others.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education
  • Four-year degree preferred. A two-year technical degree/certification program is required
  • Industry certifications may be used in lieu of education.

  • Industry certifications preferred.
  • Experience
  • 3 years of professional IT infrastructure and departmental experience
  • 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience designing and implementing storage and SAN solutions. 2+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in related field experience with one or more of our key vendors\' products \xe2\x80\x93 Cisco UCS/Security/Network, Pure, VMware, EMC.
  • Meditech Experience preferred.
  • 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience administrating Microsoft systems.
  • 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with data center system management to include compute and storage.
  • 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience troubleshooting and managing Active Directory and exchange solutions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, CPI, CPR)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data center security and PCI.
  • Knowledge of automation and orchestration of key IT functions and/or processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and bring order to ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work on different projects in a simultaneous fashion.
  • Ability to relay technical information to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management and independent work skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills working within an integrated clinical systems environment.
