Job Description

We are looking for motivated students with a strong interest in the mining industry. Our internship program is 10 weeks long, in which you will receive important industry training and get involved in meaningful real-world projects like planning a program, designing a process, or implementing technology. The culmination of your program will include an opportunity to present your work to management.


Position:

SXEW Intern will be assisting the L-SXEW Department


Duties:




Anode condition and tracking database Cost/Benefit Analysis and Feasibility Study on Replacing Starter Sheets w/ Permanent Cathode Blanks Cost/Benefit Analysis and Feasibility Study on Different Contact Bus Bars Cost/Benefit Analysis and Feasibility Study of Replacing Lead Anodes w/ Alternative Anodes Evaluate assigned field problems (real or theoretical) and report back as required. Meet everyday safety goals. Various other projects as assigned.
Requirements:

Education Requirements:




Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited school or university and currently pursuing a degree in, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Technology, Ore Control, or other related degrees.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:




Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities. Time management skills in performing multiple projects with various team members. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present findings and make recommendations. Proficient with Microsoft Office products

Experience Required:

No previous experience required.


Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:



Frequent sitting, standing, walking and some exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures (not for all majors)


Duration:

Requires at least a ten-week internship commitment between mid-May and mid-August.


Duration: Temporary/ Seasonal
