Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. Your expertise will support the health and well-being of individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and other chronic conditions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by assisting with medical procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring patient comfort and safety through active engagement and professional care.

Duties



Assist with patient assessments by monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to support accurate diagnosis and ongoing care. Administer medications and treatments following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Support patients with activities of daily living, including mobility assistance, catheter care, tube feeding, and hygiene routines in compliance with safety standards. Operate electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Epic or PCC to accurately document medical information, treatments, and patient progress. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans for patients with dementia, memory impairments, or disabilities in various settings such as senior living communities or home environments. Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration procedures to provide competent support. Assist in medical procedures such as wound care or specimen collection under supervision while ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Support hospice and palliative care efforts by providing compassionate assistance tailored to individual needs during sensitive times.

Qualifications



Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or home care environments. Familiarity with working with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, dementia management and senior care best practices. Experience using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or PCC for accurate medical documentation. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and medication administration protocols. Ability to perform clinical duties such as vital signs measurement, catheter care and tube feeding safely and effectively. Excellent caregiving skills combined with a compassionate approach towards patients facing complex health challenges. Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy at all times. Previous medical office experience or home & community care experience is advantageous. Ability to work effectively in acute care settings or environments supporting individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour
