RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SWIM TEAM COACH:

Spend your days by the pool Have fun coaching young swim team participants at meets and practices

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A

SWIM TEAM COACH

Minimum age of 16. Must have one or more years of experience swimming in or coaching for competitive swim teams. Must be able to demonstrate swim coach skills in accordance with YMCA standards. Ability to intentionally incorporate the YMCA Program Goals into swim practices and meets. Ability to effectively communicate information with members, peers, and supervisors. Must be observant, safety conscious, and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency. Ability to think in the abstract, solve problems, and make quick decisions under stress. Immediately notify the appropriate staff of any broken equipment or unsafe aspects of the pool
